This new application provides customers with the tools to automatically detect oil palm trees and further analyze their status based on orthomosaics and digital elevation models derived from UAS systems. The eCognition Oil Palm Application can be conveniently combined with other Trimble software and hardware products, such as the UX5 for data collection and TBC Base, UASMaster or TBC APM for data processing and modelling, to provide customers with a complete solution.

This software is offering more than just a tree detection. The main features of this eCognition Oil Palm Application are:

1. Automatic oil palm tree detection.
2. Automatic crown size detection.
3. Automatic anomaly analysis (healthy and unhealthy tree) – more precise if using the NIR dataset.
4. DTM estimation – for tree height detection.
5. Full analysis report in .pdf format – includes number of blocks, area per block, total number of palm trees, average stand per Ha, average crown size, average tree height, total number of healthy and unhealthy trees.
6. Export attributes to shapefile.
